The Owl and the Hedgehog

Here are the next two blocks from the Fancy Forest quilt. I tried very hard to get the raindrop pieces on the owl all facing the same way, but still failed! The hedgehog likewise was quite tricky ¬†as marking and sewing the diagonals didn’t come instinctively. Even with diagrams in front of me, I managed to mark the diagonal three times on some pieces, before finally getting it the right way round. However, it was very satisfying seeing all the bits of fabric become something recognizable.

This is the second block from the Fancy Forest quilt, some stern-looking rabbits!

Pacific baby quilt

This is a quilt made using scraps left over from the fox blocks I’ve been making, with fabric from the Pacific range by Elizabeth Hartman.

I really enjoyed the big stitch quilting using thick rainbow coloured embroidery thread and I think the simplicity is very pleasing. The backing is a Cotton + Steel print that I also used in the arctic waves quilt.
