About

Hello, my name’s Eleanor and I’ve been quilting since 2005. I work as a lexicographer, so after thinking about words all day I find working with my hands very relaxing. The purpose of this blog is to showcase my quilts and to have a personal record of the things I’ve made.

You can view my Ravelry profile here and my email is cowleyeleanor@gmail.com.

  1. I also started quilting in 2005.I teach French, language and literature.I am in the process of lightening my stash and this by making as many quilts as possible using my scraps especially the blues and greens (like my favorite painter Pissarro). I just saw your dreamy “Pastel quilt’ after Susan Briscoe’s quilt in the first issue of Today’s Quilter, which unfortunately I do not have.Dryslwyn-Dreams inspired from a Welsh quilt.

I want to make the same but do not dare cut before I am sure of the dimensions of the basic units -the rectangle and the joining “stick”-length,I presume the width of these units ,and the corner squares ,is two and a half inch since it’s made with jelly rolls.
If you could send me the dimensions I would be so grateful.

    Thank You,

    1. Hi Marie-Claude, I’m afraid I don’t have the dimensions on me, but I remember it being more complicated than it looks in that the rectangles next to the corner squares are longer than the others. However, you can buy digital copies of Today’s Quilter.

      1. Thank you ,Susan Briscoe had said in her blog that the rectangles were not all the same size,it was an illusion.I guess I will have to “fudge”? with it as you go along, that’s an advice she gives about another vintage frame quilt of Today’s Quilter.I will buy the digital copy.
        Again thank you.
